Formation

Formation as Disciples of Christ

Discipleship is a life-long journey of growing closer to God. We seek to provide opportunities of formation for all ages and at all stages of the faith journey. From Sacramental preparation to deepening one’s prayer life, we have something for you.

How to become Catholic

Interested in becoming Catholic or learning more about the Catholic faith? We would enjoy walking with you on your spiritual journey and invite you to consider joining others in the OCIA (formerly RCIA) process.

The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA) is the faith formation program through which those who are new to Catholicism or Christianity in general can learn more about the what the Catholic Church teaches and begin the process of becoming Catholic. Whether you are coming from a different Christian denomination, were baptized Catholic and need to receive the rest of your Sacraments, or are from an entirely different faith tradition, we will walk you through the process from start to finish, and answer all your questions.

Youth Formation

Family Faith Formation

Youth religious education is offered through the parish’s Family Faith Formation program for children who attend public or non-Catholic private schools. Yearly parish programs begin in the fall and conclude in the spring, and include sacramental preparation for youth seeking Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation. We recognize that parents are the primary educators of their children and seek to support and partner with them in their mission of forming their children. Parents attend monthly sessions and lead at-home components for their family.

For more information or to register for the program, contact the Youth Evangelization Coordinator:

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

CGS is a Montessori-based program where children engage with God through Scripture and Liturgy. CGS provides a place (the Atrium) for this relationship to blossom. It holds materials such as figurines, dioramas, and craft activities paired with scripture to depict Christ’s Incarnation. It’s a tactile way of meditating upon the essentials of our Faith.

CGS meets during the school year on Sunday mornings at Visitation. Level 1 is for ages 3-5. Children must be potty trained.
